Purpose of the sub-committee:
To enhance provision of the Scots Language in Scottish Education
25th January 2011
For the first time ever, teachers were awarded Professional Recognition for Scots Language Teaching by the General Teaching Council for Scotland. The awards were presented at the Scottish Parliament to 12 teachers on 22nd February 2011.

Report was conducted by the Research Group of the Education
Sub-Committee. It is the first Survey to ask teachers and other
education professionals for their views on Scots.

Report to the Scottish Government, all MSPs and education policy makers.
